How are the students organized?
Students are organized in small groups of about 12 students.
What are the teachers' credentials?
Our teachers have decades of combined experience! From bachelors degrees, to masters degrees, experience teaching at the graduate level, as well as small group, one-on-one, and private school settings. Our teachers have a variety of experiences that uniquely qualify them for the content they teach.
Do students only sit to learn?
We understand that everyone has different learning needs and preferences. We also understand that hands-on experiences and movement support learning. Students are in a variety of settings for each content area, with movement breaks in between, and breaks throughout.
What makes NELC different?
We provide teachers who are committed to their content, and spend hours preparing each lesson. The curriculum is tailored to the needs of students. Students get plenty of socialization in each class!
What curriculum do you use?
Because each student comes with a different background, using a one size fits all curriculum would be a disservice. Instead, we tailor our instruction to the needs of the students. We pull from different resources, and use tried and true strategies to support their learning.
What does NELC have to offer?
We offer the chance to learn in a small group setting where students work cooperatively. We also offer the opportunity for fun special days - dress up days, spirit days, field day, research fair, book buddies, and more!
